roofingcontractortampa.net is a lead referral service for roofing work in Tampa, Florida, and the surrounding Hillsborough County area.
We are not a roofing contractor. We do not employ roofers, we do not quote work, and we do not carry a contractor licence. When you call the number on this site, you are connected to an independent licensed roofing contractor who covers your address, and any contract you sign is with them.
The site is paid by the contractor network when a call connects. It is free to callers and carries no obligation.
There are no reviews, ratings or testimonials anywhere on this site, and there never will be. We have no customers to review us, so publishing any would be a fabrication.
Every factual claim about costs, building code, permitting or insurance is sourced and dated on the page where it appears. Where a figure could not be sourced to a standard we were comfortable publishing, it is absent rather than estimated.
Why there are no reviews
Almost every roofing site you will visit has a wall of five-star testimonials. This one has none, and the reason is simple: we have not done any roofing work, so there is nobody to review us. Publishing testimonials for work we did not do would be inventing them, which is both dishonest and, under the Federal Trade Commission's rules on fake reviews, unlawful.
The same reasoning rules out a founding date we do not have, a street address we do not occupy, a licence number we do not hold, and a count of roofs we have not replaced. If you find any of those on a roofing site, they are worth a second look.
How the content here is written
Roofing in Florida is unusually rule-bound, and most of what circulates about those rules online is wrong in a direction that favours selling roofs. So the standard applied here is that a claim about cost, building code, permitting or insurance either has a source or does not get published.
That has consequences you can see. There is no design wind speed figure on this site, because the sources contradicted each other. There is no permit fee table, no promised insurance discount percentage, and no whole-roof cost total based on the square footage of your house — that last one circulates everywhere and is wrong, because roof area is not floor area. Each guide ends with its sources and the date they were checked.
What we will not do
- Advise you on an insurance claim. The guides explain how the process works, with sources. What you should claim, and whether to claim at all, is between you, your insurer and if necessary a licensed professional.
- Tell you your roof needs replacing. Nobody can say that from a website. Several pages here explain when a repair is the better answer, because it usually is.
- Sell or pass on your details from a form. There is no form. If you call, the contractor who takes the call gets what you tell them — nothing more.
Where we cover, and where we do not
Tampa and the surrounding Hillsborough County communities: South Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Carrollwood, Westchase, New Tampa, Temple Terrace, Town 'n' Country, Valrico and Plant City. Pinellas County — St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the beaches — is outside the area we cover, as is anything over the Pasco County line. We would rather say so than take a call we cannot route to somebody who can actually attend.
Verify before you sign
Whoever ends up on your roof, check their licence yourself with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation before signing anything. It takes a minute and it is the single most useful thing a Florida homeowner can do before a roofing contract.
